SwissStop produces bicycle brake components including brake pads, disc brake rotors, accessories and service sprays which all share the common goal of improving the riding experience for cyclists of all types – from commuter to recreational, amateur to professional.

Headquarters and Factory

With headquarters including offices and factory in Mendrisio, Switzerland, the origins of bicycle brake pad development and production at the company date back to the 1950s. Technical expertise in rubber compound formulations was the basis of high performance, category leading brake pads suited to the brake systems of day – beginning with compounds for aluminum rims and then development of specialized compounds for carbon wheels as they became popular in the market in the early 2000s.

 

DISC BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS

With the adoption of disc brakes on mountain bikes in the 1990s, SwissStop began development of disc brake pad compounds. Today, SwissStop offers a choice of four different disc pad compounds to meet the demands of all modern cycling applications – from road to gravel, e-bike to downhill. In addition, SwissStop R&D teams developed the Catalyst family of disc brake rotors. These rotors further improve the cycling experience by providing consistent, powerful braking and extreme durability.

We believe in constant evolution and innovation. The research, design and testing programs initiated by our product development teams are the foundation of a diverse product portfolio that not only keeps up with an ever-changing market, but unique, often category defining products such as the Yellow King compound for carbon wheels, or the Disc RS compound for disc brake systems.

 

Sustainability

Environmental sustainability is important to us. We strive to reduce the environmental impact of our operations and are proud to announce the success of new initiatives such as PAIR & FAIR. This program offers greatly improved product packaging efficiency and environmental friendliness. It also marked the start of a long-term partnership directly supporting clean-up of plastics and other waste from waterways worldwide.
